Hannah + Cameron // Sycamore Creek Ranch Wedding Film

As my first wedding of 2019, this Sycamore Creek Ranch wedding had a lot of hype going in: An adorable couple, lots of my favorite wedding pros working alongside me and lovely weather in the forecast. Hard to imagine it exceeding my expectations, but that’s exactly what Hannah and Cameron’s wedding day accomplished.

Walking in to a house full of excited bridesmaids and a glowing bride-to-be started the day off on a high note, and from that point forward the energy never faltered. From their smile-inducing letters, to their passionate personal vows, my heart could barely take it; yet these two kept finding ways to captivate me. Hannah and Cam, accompanied by a light breeze and a perfectly-overcast backdrop, embraced one another without a care in the world. Seeing as they required zero direction on my part, I simply let them enjoy these last few quiet moments together before an epic night of celebrating would wrap up the evening.

Megan + Clark // Greenhouse Two Rivers Wedding Film

Waking up on the morning of Megan and Clark’s big day, hours before the sun was scheduled to arrive, was an interesting experience to say the least. You see, I’m a night-person, and after editing deep into the AM on most given nights, you’d think I would be a zombie at this point.

That was not the case, however, as my brain was buzzing at the creative opportunities in front of me. Megan putting on her dress in a complete absence of daylight, my preferred source of light, meant that I had to try something new. Opening up the hotel window drapery revealed a magnificent display of downtown Branson’s city lights. “Yeah, that’ll do,” I thought to myself. “That’ll do.”

The reason we were starting preps this early, dear reader, is because we were shooting for a first look shortly after sunrise. With the help of Chris Killingsworth Photography, we found the perfect spot and proceeded to sit back and witness two of the kindest, most genuine souls I’ve ever met embrace one another on the morning of their wedding day. After seeing this, I had no doubts that the rest of the festivities would be incredible. And, sure enough, thanks to a plethora of absurdly talented wedding professionals and an entourage of loving friends and family visiting Greenhouse Two Rivers from all over the country, Megan and Clark’s nuptials wrapped up our 2018 season in the best way possible.

Paige + Marcus // Missouri Backyard Wedding Film

I really, really enjoy intimate weddings. The epic, 300-person get-togethers are a spectacle, sure, but the smaller the event the more I am reminded why I love what I do. So, when Paige’s email inquiry described a weekend consisting of immediate family only, no bridal party and taking place on a private farm, I could barely contain my excitement for their early-October nuptials.

Paige, being a photographer herself, was an absolute dream to work with. She chose her ceremony time based on where the sun would be, picked the best light to get ready under, scheduled plenty of time for creative sessions and was chill as a cucumber from sunrise to sunset. Combined with her and Marcus’ I’m-not-crying-you’re-crying personal vows, this weekend was, well, just about as perfect as it gets.

Alexandra + Lazaro // Top of the Rock Wedding Film

If I told you that Alexandra and Lazaro’s Top of the Rock wedding day ended with the wildest, craziest reception of 2018, well, that would also be the biggest understatement of 2018.

But let’s jump back to the beginning of the day, where these two Miami, Florida natives stood across from one another — in an empty chapel soon to be packed to the brim with family and friends — and exchanged personal vows. Based on hanging out with these two as they got ready, I could already tell that the rest of the day would be lively to say the least; but this quiet moment proved to be the most poignant.

And that’s what made the reception so infectiously enjoyable. These families were full of so much passion, that Sheri Holloway and I couldn’t help but join in on the dance floor and bust out some moves as Elevate Entertainment rocked the house. We ended up parting ways around midnight, but legend has it that Alexandra, Lazaro and their loved ones are still partying to this day . . .

Allyson + Dan // St. Louis, Missouri Wedding Film

To say that Allyson and Dan were an absolute joy to be around might be the biggest understatement of the year. By the time we parted ways at the end of the night, I was legitimately bummed out that I had to drive home. Thankfully, I have footage -- from sunrise to sunset -- that allows me (and you, dear reader) to relive such a rad day.

Allyson and Dan, along with a crowd of family and friends, traveled downtown for some post-ceremony celebrating at Neo on Locust. This venue, with it's lovely natural light and urban ambience, was the perfect place for such a badass couple to wrap up such a badass day.

Kim + Paul // Kansas City, Missouri Wedding Film

When the details surrounding Kim and Paul's Kansas City wedding initially found their way to my inbox, each piece of information made the year-long wait more and more unbearable. Outdoor ceremony in Loose Park's Rose Garden? Reception nestled downtown at the Monarach Room? Sunset session on a bridge overlooking the city? Sign me right up.

And as if the locations of the festivities weren't enough to solidify this wedding as one of the best ever, the cherry on top was Kim and Paul's enthusiasm from the moment I walked into their respective hotel rooms. Although I had never met them in person, I immediately felt as if I had known them for years. By the end of the night, it was obvious as to why they had a such a massive group of friends and family to celebrate alongside them.

Savanna + Marshall // Chaumette Vineyards & Winery Wedding Film

This wedding was, essentially, perfect in every way. Like, this entire post could just be about how devastatingly gorgeous the couple is, how crazy perfect the weather was, the amount of fun had at their reception, the expansive, stunning venue, or how flawless the day went in general.

Despite the nearly-overwhelming beauty of this wedding day, however, I can't help but feel that the undeniable love between Savanna and Marshall simply stole the show. Every interaction between them felt like it was straight out of a fairy tale, from their first look to their final dance. That first look, which took place under a canopy of trees and was accompanied by an ensemble of chirp-happy birds, provided the ideal setting for this duo to deliver their life-long promises to one another. Promises which I have no doubt will be fulfilled.

Amanda + Buddy // Missouri Elopement Film

When the talented photographers over at Sugar Snap Images asked me to film their wedding day, I was instantly on board, fantasising about working with creative individuals with an eye for imagery and hearts full of romantic purpose. That would have been enough to get my heart pounding with excitement, but then Amanda casually mentioned that their wedding was, in fact, going to be an elopement-style, getting-hitched-under-a-tree-in-a-field-followed-by-photos-and-fireworks type of shindig, and in the words of countless Tumblr blogs and awestruck girls, my only thought was, "I can't even."

At first, Amanda and Buddy were concerned that there wouldn't be much of a story to tell without the formalities of a traditional wedding, but I assured them that, truthfully, there would be more. You see, hidden beneath the stress and anxiety of an itinerary-packed wedding day, there rests the most important reason a couple decides to tie the knot: Love. Discard the venues, the invitations, the catering and everything else that defines a traditional wedding, and you're left with what matters most.

Meg + Mike // Stonegate Glass Chapel Wedding Film

I’ll remember a lot of things from this wedding, but I would be remiss if I didn’t include Meg’s smile-inducing laughter on that compilation. Couple that with her and Mike’s two adorable pups, some perfect fall weather and a collection of friends and family that made it impossible to not have a good time, and you have a recipe for one heckuva wedding day.

Sure enough, the day did not disappoint. Starting with preps at a ridiculously cool loft on Springfield’s Commercial Street, followed by tying the knot at Stonegate Glass Chapel just north of Branson and ending the night at Old Towne Event Center in Republic. The day was full of travel, sure, but it was even more full of heart.

Sarah + Elgin // Missouri Wedding Film

When Sarah and Elgin first booked me, they did so through Bringing it Together, an event planning team led by the fantastic Mary Douglas. So, when I finally had a chance to sit down with this bride-to-be that hailed from Texas, I didn't really know what to expect. As I walked in for my pre-wedding meeting with Sarah and Diane (Sarah's mom), I was bombarded with hugs and an excitement for the big day ahead, letting me know that -- at the very least -- these folks were my kinda people.

As if that weren't great enough, I was then informed that their family had been constructing an impressive pond-side, gazebo-style structure, complete with a wooden deck on the water (specifically for their first dance), concrete flooring and a built-in bar for the inevitable after-party. The building of this structure had taken many, many months of planning and physical work, with even Sarah getting her hands dirty to help the process along.

But, custom venue on expansive, stunning family property aside, it was the love between Sarah and Elgin that stole the show. Through their notes to one another that morning, you could tell that their relationship was one founded on respect, trust and adoration. Every interaction between them simply radiated passionate devotion, and it was beyond a joy to capture.

Kelly + Andrew // Missouri Botanical Garden Wedding Film

The Missouri Botanical Garden is a sprawling center for botanical research located inside St. Louis. Turns out, it’s also a pretty rad place to have a wedding ceremony. Although I was excited to experience even a fraction of the 79 acres of floral awesomeness, I was looking forward to hanging out with Kelly and Andrew even more.

On the day of their wedding, these two were calm, cool and collected. Something that I had come to expect after conversing with Kelly for over a year prior to their big day. They both frequently asked how the other was doing, patiently waiting until their eyes would meet as Kelly walked down that aisle. And from that point on, it was all smiles as they partied the night away surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Sophie + Gus // Belamour Barn Wedding Film

It’s basically a fact that when Allie Rose Events is involved, your big day is going to be impeccable. This was indeed the case for Gus and Sophie’s Belamour wedding, which kicked off the Fall season with lovely temperatures and brilliant colors.

These two possess such kind, compassionate souls that it was an absolute joy getting to know them. From the morning preparations until the final sparkler send-off, Gus and Sophie’s combination of both timid affection and outgoing spirits never ceased to inspire those around them, including yours truly.

Max + Rebecca // Big Cedar Wedding Film

As soon as Max let out a nervous exhale before opening his gift from Rebecca, I knew I was about to witness a sincere, heartfelt moment. Sure enough, he could barely hold it together while reading the handwritten words and promises from his bride-to-be. When I got back to the girls' room, letter from Max in hand, Rebecca exhibited the same nervous excitement and teary-eyed reaction. Finally, when the Integrity Hills chapel doors swung open, I believe that Rebecca, quite literally, took Max's breath away.

Although this wedding was equipped with gorgeous floral arrangements, a stunning venue, perfect weather, a live band and even an accordion/sparkler send-off, it was the little moments between Max and Rebecca that I remember the most. Their interactions with one another, with barely any direction from me or the photographer, were truly a dream to capture.

That kind of love, dear reader(s), is what this whole marriage thing is all about.

Meghan + Josiah // Blue Bell Farm Wedding Film

Meghan and Josiah's Blue Bell Farm wedding was something magical, I tell ya. Arriving early in the morning, I was able to capture some of the farm's routines before the summer sun completely took over. The light morning breeze made its way across fields and through trees as happy chickens pranced around the property, which was being tidied up before guests began to arrive.

With both personal vows and pre-ceremony letters, Meghan and Josiah never seemed to run out of things to say. Heartfelt tears and smile-inducing laughter were both common experiences during these spoken moments, and I'm so thankful to have been present for all of it.

Luke + Rachel // Missouri Farm Wedding Film

After meeting Rachel at a bridal show in Springfield, I was instantly looking forward to her wedding. I then found out that the celebration would be taking place on their gorgeous property in Marionville, and my excitement heightened even further. Upon learning the specific details and layout while filming their Save the Date Trailer, I about couldn't handle it. I was honestly worried that, on the big day's arrival, my expectations surely wouldn't be met.

But, sure enough, everything was flawless. Not only did the constant threat of rain completely avoid us throughout the day, but the laid-back attitudes, genuine excitement and perfect weather took this wedding to a whole 'nutha level.

Luke + Rachel, you two are simply wonderful, and you deserve every bit of awesomeness that comes your way. Thank you so much for letting me capture such a perfect story.
