Jarrod + Kristen // Hot Springs, Arkansas Wedding Film

Jarrod and Kristen are, individually, exceptional people. But together, in each other's company, their benevolent personalities are undeniably inspiring. While filming throughout the day, they both regularly asked what could be done to make my job easier. This built-in generosity, it turns out, is something that they offer to everyone in their lives, and it's truly commendable.

When Kristen informed me that her and Jarrod were getting hitched in the Garvan Woodland Gardens' Anthony Chapel and then celebrating the night away at the Arlington Hotel, I was ecstatic to say the least. But it was their smile-inducing notes to one another, their intimate first look, the flawless weather and their adorable chemistry that made this wedding day nothing short of perfection.

Savanna + Marshall // Chaumette Vineyards & Winery Wedding Film

This wedding was, essentially, perfect in every way. Like, this entire post could just be about how devastatingly gorgeous the couple is, how crazy perfect the weather was, the amount of fun had at their reception, the expansive, stunning venue, or how flawless the day went in general.

Despite the nearly-overwhelming beauty of this wedding day, however, I can't help but feel that the undeniable love between Savanna and Marshall simply stole the show. Every interaction between them felt like it was straight out of a fairy tale, from their first look to their final dance. That first look, which took place under a canopy of trees and was accompanied by an ensemble of chirp-happy birds, provided the ideal setting for this duo to deliver their life-long promises to one another. Promises which I have no doubt will be fulfilled.

Amanda + Buddy // Missouri Elopement Film

When the talented photographers over at Sugar Snap Images asked me to film their wedding day, I was instantly on board, fantasising about working with creative individuals with an eye for imagery and hearts full of romantic purpose. That would have been enough to get my heart pounding with excitement, but then Amanda casually mentioned that their wedding was, in fact, going to be an elopement-style, getting-hitched-under-a-tree-in-a-field-followed-by-photos-and-fireworks type of shindig, and in the words of countless Tumblr blogs and awestruck girls, my only thought was, "I can't even."

At first, Amanda and Buddy were concerned that there wouldn't be much of a story to tell without the formalities of a traditional wedding, but I assured them that, truthfully, there would be more. You see, hidden beneath the stress and anxiety of an itinerary-packed wedding day, there rests the most important reason a couple decides to tie the knot: Love. Discard the venues, the invitations, the catering and everything else that defines a traditional wedding, and you're left with what matters most.

Sammy + Chase // Omaha, Nebraska Wedding Film

I could say that the best part of Chase and Sammy's wedding day was the happy-go-lucky attitude present from beginning to end. I could say that it was their timid first look under a canopy of trees while the warm air reminded everyone that summer was indeed upon us. I could say that my favorite moment was loving on the tiny horses present at their reception. Perhaps the best part of the day, however, was simply watching them interact during sunset, letting them do their thing with no instruction needed.

In actuality, simply being around these two was what made the day so special. Both of them were blissfully at ease around their friends and family, soaking in the overflow of love and support. The decorations, flowers, dresses and festivities were immaculate, but nothing could hold a candle to the indisputable affection between Sammy and Chase.

Kristy + Adrian // Denver, Colorado Wedding Film

When Kristy and Adrian first got in touch and outlined their plan to fly me and my assistant out to Colorado and put us up in a fully furnished apartment for nearly a week, I about passed out from excitement before finishing the email. Pair that news with the fact that their ceremony was taking place on a rooftop in downtown Denver, and you can begin to understand my elated status.

From the moment I officially met Kristy and Adrian, I knew that it would be a different kind of wedding. The mood and atmosphere throughout the big day was that of fun and spontaneity. It was a celebration of love, sure, but it was first and foremost a celebration. Despite the weather forcing their ensemble of guests indoors, these two chose to have their first dance as newlyweds in the rain, spinning and smiling in front of a stunning sunset. And I believe that, dear readers, captures who they are as a duo quite perfectly indeed.

Sarah + Elgin // Missouri Wedding Film

When Sarah and Elgin first booked me, they did so through Bringing it Together, an event planning team led by the fantastic Mary Douglas. So, when I finally had a chance to sit down with this bride-to-be that hailed from Texas, I didn't really know what to expect. As I walked in for my pre-wedding meeting with Sarah and Diane (Sarah's mom), I was bombarded with hugs and an excitement for the big day ahead, letting me know that -- at the very least -- these folks were my kinda people.

As if that weren't great enough, I was then informed that their family had been constructing an impressive pond-side, gazebo-style structure, complete with a wooden deck on the water (specifically for their first dance), concrete flooring and a built-in bar for the inevitable after-party. The building of this structure had taken many, many months of planning and physical work, with even Sarah getting her hands dirty to help the process along.

But, custom venue on expansive, stunning family property aside, it was the love between Sarah and Elgin that stole the show. Through their notes to one another that morning, you could tell that their relationship was one founded on respect, trust and adoration. Every interaction between them simply radiated passionate devotion, and it was beyond a joy to capture.

Benita + Jerry // Oklahoma City Wedding Film

Benita's brother might have orchestrated seemingly everything about this incredible Oklahoma wedding, but through the wonders of the Internet I was able to chat with Benita and Jerry over Skype prior to the big day. Wedding cinematography was very important to them, so I was eager to learn more about their desired style. After our video call ended, I was beaming with excitement and couldn't wait to get them in front of my camera.

Throughout the wedding day, I was amazed at how relaxed both parties were. Despite the massive guest list, consisting of nearly 500 friends and family from all over the world, Benita and Jerry weren't shaken in the slightest. This is, no doubt, due to the fact that their love for one another was not only evident, it was indisputable. From their letters to each other, to their first look, to their ceremony and well into the after-party, their passion never ceased to inspire me.

Jennifer + Graeme // Top of the Rock Wedding Film

Upon walking into Jennifer's cabin on the morning of the big day, she greeted me with curlers in her hair and a raspy voice from being sick. Her bubbly personality shined right through, however, and I don't think I ever saw that smile leave her face. Meanwhile, Graeme sat down and nervously opened the letter he had received from his soon-to-be bride. When he barely made it through the first sentence without tearing up, I knew that the rest of the day would be magical.

After tying the knot in Top of the Rock's hilltop chapel, the party transitioned to Big Cedar's brand-new Outdoor Shooting Academy, which was set up for a stellar reception and glorious sunset that nearly rivaled the magnitude of Jennifer and Graeme's love for one another.

Carly + Jacob // Texas Wedding Film

“Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.” ― Nicole Krauss, The History of Love

By the time these words were spoken during Carly and Jacob's hilltop ceremony, I had already witnessed enough evidence to determine the accuracy of such a quote when referencing the love they share. Jacob pursues Carly with such passion, respect and fondness, and Carly chases right back. Observing their bubbling excitement as they waited for the big moment was as authentic as it gets.

Despite being told of the tremendous preparations for this rather momentous day, I was still amazed at the army of people working up a sweat modifying the expansive Texas property for the upcoming wedding festivities. Friends and family, lighting crews and even the bridal party all got their hands dirty to make everything perfect. When colossal, ominous clouds full of rain threatened to crash the party, a backup plan was initiated until it was unanimously decided that, rain or shine, these two were getting hitched on that hilltop . . . And that's exactly what they did when the clouds broke apart and the sun's warmth fell upon us.

Back at the bottom of the hill, the reception was nothing short of marvelous. Exquisite food, kickin' live music, sky lanterns, cotton candy and one heckuva fireworks display all wrapped up with a trail of sparklers to send the duo on their way. At the heart of it all, however, was the overwhelmingly obvious love between Carly and Jacob, and that, dear readers, is worth celebratin'.

Mike + Amanda // Oklahoma Wedding Film

Gosh. Where do I begin with these two? Do I start by mentioning their impeccable kindness? Do I kick things off by bringing up just how stunning they are together? What about the fact that both of them are unanimously loved and cherished by everyone around them? Seriously, I could go on.

Oklahoma blessed us with some beautiful fall weather during Mike and Amanda's wedding day, and we took advantage of every second. Doors and windows swayed gently on their hinges while a refreshing breeze cooled those that it touched. My favorite memory of the day, however, wasn't admiring the immaculate floral decorations or wincing at the girls' hilarious-yet-eardrum-bursting "Group Scream." Instead, it was the moments right before the reception officially started, where, igniting the dry leaves ablaze with vibrant, warm colors, the departing sun painted a perfect backdrop as Mike and Amanda hit pause on their wedding day. These moments of timid, candid affection amidst glowing trees and fallen pine needles merely highlighted the obvious fact that this will, indeed, be a long and happy marriage.

Luke + Rachel // Missouri Farm Wedding Film

After meeting Rachel at a bridal show in Springfield, I was instantly looking forward to her wedding. I then found out that the celebration would be taking place on their gorgeous property in Marionville, and my excitement heightened even further. Upon learning the specific details and layout while filming their Save the Date Trailer, I about couldn't handle it. I was honestly worried that, on the big day's arrival, my expectations surely wouldn't be met.

But, sure enough, everything was flawless. Not only did the constant threat of rain completely avoid us throughout the day, but the laid-back attitudes, genuine excitement and perfect weather took this wedding to a whole 'nutha level.

Luke + Rachel, you two are simply wonderful, and you deserve every bit of awesomeness that comes your way. Thank you so much for letting me capture such a perfect story.

Lauren + Zach // The Round Barn Wedding Film

Lauren and Zach are dorks. Hilarious, genuine, friendly, perfectly awesome dorks, and their wedding day proved to be just as fantastic as I knew it would be.

The Round Barn is a quaint little venue nestled amongst the rolling hills of Walnut Grove, Missouri, and it provided the perfect location for this duo to tie the knot. Surrounded by their friends and family, Lauren and Zach exchanged heartfelt, chuckle-inducing vows that put a smile on the face of all those in attendance. When they glanced up at one another in between sentences full of love and promise, you could tell that no spoken words have ever been more true.

My favorite part of the day, however, was Zach's reaction as Lauren confidently walked down the aisle to meet him. The look in his eyes when the crowd stood up is the stuff of pure romance, folks, and I'm glad I was there to witness it. Take notes, groom-to-be's, take notes.

Natalia + Edward // Haseltine Estate Wedding Film

When I first met with Natalia and Edward to film their Love Story and Save the Date Trailer, I immediately knew that their wedding was going to be memorable. Sure enough, that prediction proved to be true, as this duo and their marvelous family delivered a celebration for the books.

Arriving early at Haseltine Estate on the morning of the big day, I was treated to ridiculously perfect weather and an abundance of vendors prepping for the upcoming festivities. On separate ends of the expansive property, Natalia and Edward were tucked away in their respective rooms, neither of them expressing nervousness -- only unbridled enthusiasm. When the time finally came for Natalia to walk down the aisle, Edward could do nothing more than fight back tears of happiness before joining hands with his wife-to-be.

After their nuptials wrapped up under the warm, setting sun, Natalia and Edward's reception commenced with the hilarious and always-entertaining Broc Barton at the helm. The guests had received popular dance move lessons during the cocktail hour thanks to Motion Playlist, so they were ready to show off their newfound skills as the lights dimmed and the strobes kicked in. The young and old alike partied with the newlyweds until late into the night, when the igniting of sparklers signaled the end to an incredible wedding day.

April + Aaron // San Antonio, Texas Wedding Film

After checking into our hotel, (conveniently nestled within downtown San Antonio), the first thing I wanted to explore was the fabled River Walk. The network of walkways along the San Antonio River winds and loops under bridges, serving as a pedestrian escape from the hustling city above. Lined with bars, restaurants, shops and attractions, this sprawling and unique experience was the perfect backdrop to the equally fabulous wedding day that I was about to witness.

April and Aaron are the type of people that seem to just click with anyone they interact with. In fact, upon my first in-person meeting with April on the evening before the big day, I was pulled into a hotel room crammed full of the soon-to-be bridal party and promptly introduced. Within moments, it felt like I had known these folks for much longer than sixty seconds.

The ceremony took place under a gorgeous canopy of trees at the Southwest School of Art, with the sounds of the river and a plethora of birds chirping away. The weather couldn't have been any nicer, but I have a feeling that, even in the worst conditions, April and Aaron would find a way to make those around them maintain their spirits.

Jessica + Dwayne // Blue Bell Farm Wedding Film

Jessica and Dwayne, a California couple with Midwestern routes, traveled to Missouri (along with their adorable pups, Brutus & Phoebe) to get hitched at the super charming Blue Bell Farm. The venue, both inside and out, was adorned with gorgeous floral arrangements in every nook and cranny. Squirrels romped about and birds chirped happily as sunlight pierced the canopy above, and I often found myself forgetting to hit record while admiring my surroundings.

Jessica was walked down the aisle by her father (and the pups, of course), before she and Dwayne exchanged heartfelt, personal vows as the sun began to set behind a backdrop of flowers and trees. After the ceremony, guests headed inside the barn and were treated to a hilarious take on 'Baby Got Back' via the opening toast. This paved the way for a night full of dancing, cake and Andy's Frozen Custard, all before wrapping up with a sparkler exit in the crisp, country air.
